Format:

Practice (25min)/Qualifying (5min): A second green flag will indicate the end of Practice and the beginning of qualifying. Your qualifying driver will be your starting driver for the race. Post qualifying, drivers will enter the pit lane for refueling and weight inspections. Starting drivers must remain in the pit lane after their weight inspection. After all inspections and refueling is complete, drivers will immediately enter their karts and grid up on the front straight to take the start.

Race (3 hours): 1 hour 30 mins forward track, 1 hour 30 mins reverse track.

Starts:

The start will be a Le Mans style start. All restarts will be a single file rolling start.

Pit Stops:

  • Drivers must complete 10 total pit stops during this event, failure to do so will result in a DQ.
  • Pit stops will be 2 minutes, timed stops where drivers will pull into the pit to change karts.
  • Drivers must pull into pit under control, failure to do so will result in an additional 30 second penalty being added to the team’s pit stop. This includes but is not limited to locking the rear tires when entering pit lane, bouncing off walls in pit lane, not coming to a complete and controlled stop, unbuckling seat belts/taking safety equipment off early.
  • If the driver is found to be underweight, the team will incur an additional 2-minute timed penalty on top of their pit stop (making a 4-minute stop).
  • Drivers will be released from pit lane once 2 minutes has passed and their seat belts are fastened as well as having all the proper safety equipment on.
  • In the event of a caution or red flag while a team in pit, that driver will be held for their whole 2-minute stop and then will be released onto the track at the tail end of the field, unless the leader is in the last turn in which they must wait for the field to pass before exiting pit lane.
  • Pits will be closed 5 minutes after the start of the race and before the finish of the race. Pits are also closed during the first lap after a restart & any full-course caution and reopens after 1 pass of pit entry under green.
  • The maximum number of karts stopping at any time is 5.
  • A red light will be posted at the pit entrance when pits are closed.
  • Karts will be topped off with fuel every pit stop after elapsing the 1-hour mark in the race. This also means, teams must change their karts every pit stop to ensure all karts can be fueled and will last the duration of the race.
  • Kart swaps will be mandatory for all pit stops including stops made in the first hour of the race when refueling has not started yet.

Weight:

All Senior drivers will be weighed to a minimum of 200lbs. The junior class and heavy class is set to 150lbs and 250lbs. Junior drivers are not eligible for the overall podium if they do not pass the senior weight inspection (200lbs). There is a 3lb grace tolerance. The penalty for failing the weight inspection is +5 seconds for every pound underweight (including the grace tolerance). Weight ballasts will be provided

Karts:

Go-karts used will be rental karts with 200cc Honda motors and wrap around bumpers

Additional Notes:

There will be NO PASSING before or into Turn 2 (Forward) or Turn 7 (Reverse) during a restart.

For reverse direction there will be no passing allowed going into turn 14 on any and all race starts or restarts. Doing so will result in a 2 minute penalty (or 4 laps if no pit stops remain).

In the rare event of a kart breakdown, the driver must stay in the kart and wait for an official. The race will be red flagged, and a replacement kart will be issued. Karts will be lined up behind the leader and the race will restart.
